Badgers (5-10)
St. John Ambulance Badgers is a starter class for children aged between 5 and 10 years of age brought to you by Jackie Lovesey and assisted by Jamie Arr. We try to give the children an opening to first aid through fun and games, where we will learn basic first aid and how to be creative. We recommend this class before going into more advanced first aid with cadets, We often take the Badgers to see two shows a year also as part of our duties, But we will not allow the badgers to perform first aid at this stage on duty.
Cadets (10-18)
St. John Ambulance Cadets goes more in depth with first aid for childten/teenagers aged between 10 and 18 years of age brought to you by Jamie Arr. We want the Cadets to start to learn more about first aid and how to be a first aider. We also train the cadets how to check for danger for themselves and the casualty. But we also have fun trying to work towards different awards and we also go to two different shows a years and attend duties. We allow cadets to administer basic First Aid with supervision depending on if we think the cadets are ready.
Adults (18+)
St. John Ambulance Adults are much more advanced then Badgers or Cadets and you will be doing more courses and training. Brought to you by Roy Screen and Dave James, We train you how to be safe when on duty and how to protect yourselves as a first aider. We cover many first aid duties through the year and once trained, you will be able to administer first aid yourself without being supervised. We have many courses and opportunities within St. John Ambulance as first aiders or as part of our administration team (Secretaries, Treasurers, etc.) and you may get involved with other aspects of St. John. It is a great laugh with many friendly members.
